What is a Time Co-Op/Bank?

Time Co-Ops and Time Banks are cooperative community initiatives where people come together in a community to help one another as needed, free of charge. The time spent helping others is tracked using time credits in order to keep the process fair and balanced.  

A Time Co-Op differs from a Time Bank in that; a co-op is generally a smaller group where the members are more heavily invested in one another and work toward a common goal, together. A time bank, on the other hand, may be a larger group with less committed inter-community ties and function more like a volunteer-based community economy.

KommunityKoin provides you with a convenient and organized system in which you spend an hour helping me, then I spend an hour helping someone else who spends an hour helping yet another person and eventually it gets back around and someone spends an hour helping you. It's a circle of community members helping one another, free of charge, in a way that is equitable.

It's a decentralized and flexible system of time exchange where participants create, manage, and utilize “time credits” independently within their own groups or networks. Unlike traditional time banking systems with standardized rules and centralized administration, free-form time banking allows Kommunities to develop their own agreements and practices for exchanging and benefiting from time credits based on their unique needs and priorities.
